Expanded Learning Opportunities

Expanded Learning Opportunities (ELO) provides an alternative pathway to credit through experiential programs based on career exploration, supported by academic industry mentors. ELO builds innovative partnerships with a variety of academic and industry professionals driven by students interests and passions.

ELO's mission is to empower students to become self-directed learners inside and outside the classroom. Our courses expose students to potential career paths, industry role models, and support students in learning how to achieve their career goals. The goal of our programming is to prepare students for college and career by building 21st century skills: critical thinking, creative problem solving, technological literacy, and effective communication.

ELO Woonsocket courses offer students an opportunity to:

  • Study a topic that is not offered in school
  • Pursue a passion
  • Explore a potential career pathway
  • Learn outside of a traditional classroom setting
  • Earn a high school credit

Our courses engage students through hands-on experiences in real-world settings and opportunities for personalized learning. We develop new courses and initiatives based on student interest because we believe that students experience higher academic success when they are passionate about the subject matter.
