The Arts & Business Program is a job (not a drop-in program) in which participants work on real-life art & design projects for clients and the community. Participants must be able to commit to working 10 hours per week during the school year (Monday through Thursday, 3:30 to 6 pm), and 20 hours per week during the summer (Monday through Thursday, 1 to 6 pm). You do not need previous art or design experience to join the program – just the ability to be here during program hours and a willingness to learn! You will start earning an educational stipend after 72 hours of unpaid community service.
Prospective Arts & Business participants should contact us using the form below or at 401-767-2100 to set up a tour and interview. Tours are led by current youth participants and typically last 20-30 minutes, and can be scheduled during program hours (Monday through Thursday, 3:30 to 6 pm, with the exception of school holidays). Parents and guardians are welcome to join the tour, but we ask that they are not present during the interview. (Please note – you must schedule a tour in advance – unfortunately, drop-in tours cannot be accommodated.)
After completing the tour and interview, your name will be added to program wait list. The Arts & Business Program is first come, first served – we will call you when your name is next on the list. This can take between a few months to a year, so it’s a good idea to call 401-767-2100 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to check your spot and let us know you’re still interested.
