With sponsorship from Woonsocket's Health Equity Zone, artists in the Media Studio at
Riverzedge Arts created a photo essay of portraits that documents health-related
inequities experienced by teens in Woonsocket that were caused or exacerbated by the
COVID-19 pandemic. Teens interviewed and completed photoshoots with their peers to
explore these experiences and their effects. The result is a captivating collection of
portraits that bring teen voices and experiences front and center.
At the conclusion of the exhibit, the Health Equity Zone will take ownership of the
project so that it can travel throughout the state as a document of youth experiences
with health disparities.
